Walk to your window tonight,

In silence,

As all the words I could not tell you.

Autumn’s golden harp whispering ocean into stillness,

As all the secrets I could not share with you.

Look over the bay,

Million lights twinkle across the night,

As all the smiles I have not given you.

It was not what I told you,

It is what I did not.

A lonely gunner on dead-Guard,

Watching you cross to the other side,

On your way home.

Safe. Distant. Not mine.

A single rain-drop fall.

    1. Thank you very much my dear … I sometimes get hold of words, or they of me, and toss them this way and that … something comes out, often unexpected -:)!

      Take Care,

  1. Magnificent isn’t a word that I use often or that flows easily from me… but when I read and then reread this, it’s the word that keeps coming to mind. Beautiful poetry Daniela.

  2. Even your prose has a poetic tone to it. You are a poet. Worth a second read. “It wasn’t what I told you. It was what I did not.” Isn’t that our lives even with those we love much of the time? That is when we connect, when we tell what we do not tell. Very beautiful. 🙂
